Business temporary residence maximum of 3 years, employment maximum of 2 years, study maximum of 6 years, family reunification maximum of 5 years.
2 – How long does it take to obtain a temporary residence permit?
The legal deadline for taking a decision on an application regarding granting of temporary residence is 30 days (study) and 90 days (work, business) from the moment of application submission.
3 – Is it possible to change the purpose of temporary residence?
Yes, during the validity of the granted temporary residence its purpose may be changed.
4 – Are there any age restrictions for admission to universities in Slovakia?
No, applicants of any age can apply for training, for example, over 60 years old.
5 – What rights and obligations does a holder of a temporary residence permit and a permanent residence permit have in Slovakia?
Almost all similar rights of citizens of Slovakia except for the right to vote.
Necessary documents

Passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months after you apply for residence permit.
Criminal record
Must not be older than 90 days. Also it must be authenticated (either by an apostille or a consular superlegalization).
Financial security
Every applicant must have a specific amount of money at his bank account. Amount depends on the purpose of residence.
